1.  What is your shipping policy?

All orders must be placed 2 days in advanced and are shipped out Tuesdays via UPS. If you place an order on Monday-Tuesday, it will be shipped out the following Tuesday. You'll be instructed to pick a 'Ship Date' from our calendar at checkout. Please note that we cannot guarantee that the shipping service will provide the same care and attention that we do. Therefore, we are unable to refund shipping charges if packages are late or lost.

2. How much does shipping cost?

We offer a flat rate of $10.00 with UPS. Go on....add all the cookies you want ;)

3. When will my cookies arrive?

1-3 days depending on your distance from Chicago. (May be 4 business days to WA, OR, CA, FL, or rural areas.) Please remember that we are bakers, not mail couriers. Please be nice :)

4.  Do you offer local pick-up?

Yes! We've partnered with Fitzgerald's Fine Stationery at 111 N. Marion Street, Oak Park, IL 60301. Select local pick-up at checkout FREE of charge. We will contact you to confirm and you'll be able to pick-up your order on the Tuesday specified during business hours.

5.  Do you offer delivery?

Yes! We deliver locally to 60305, 60171, 60707, 60639, 60302, 60304, 60402, 60546, 60130, 60301, and 60153 on the Tuesday specified between 10am-12pm. We will contact you to confirm before delivery. If you would like delivery and you fall outside of our delivery range, we are happy to provide you a quote using delivery service, Deliv. Please contact us at to arrange!

6.  What if my order comes crushed/lost in the mail?  Do you have some type of guarantee?  

If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your order, we will refund the amount of your order, less shipping. We are committed to our customers and making sure you are 100% satisfied. Once an order leaves our kitchen we cannot guarantee that the mail carrier will provide the same level of care. Cookies can be fragile, so slight breakage can be expected, but severe broken, crushed, or melted are not. We also suggest contacting the mail carrier in the event of an issue with your package to request a refund for their mishandling. Contact us if there are any issues.

7.  What are the ingredients in Blackout Baking Co. cookies?

Blackout Baking Co. cookies contain wheat, dairy, and eggs. All cookies are baked in a facility that processes peanuts and tree nuts and may contain trace amounts of nuts. For any other allergies, please contact us before ordering to ensure a safe product.  

8.  Do you have any gluten-free cookies?

Yes (and no*)! Our Dark Chocolate Coconut Macaroon is gluten-friendly. Tell your GF friends! We're currently working on our own flour mix for traditional gluten-free cookies. Sign-up to our mailing list for the shout out when we launch them! *We are not a gluten-free only facility, therefore all of our gluten-free sweets are gluten-friendly as our kitchen contains other gluten products. We are certified in proper cleaning and safety standards with allergens and try or best to keep ingredients separate.

9.  Where is your store?

Coming late 2021! Blackout Baking Co. will be opening our first shop at 210 S Marion Street in Oak Park, IL.

10.  How should I store the cookies once received?

Blackout Baking Co. cookies are best within 7 days. They can be left at room temperature in an AIRTIGHT container (unless otherwise stated for specific cookies). To make your cookie fix last, cookies can be stored in the refrigerator for 3 weeks and in the freezer for up to 3 months. To thaw, let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes and enjoy!

11.  Do you do custom orders?

We require a minimum of 14 days notice for a custom cookie order. If you are looking to place a custom order, contact us at If you have any inspiration photos, invitations, a color palette, or any other helpful materials, please feel free to attach them to your email. We will contact you regarding your order in 24-48 hours.

Subscription Info

1. Billing

Subscriptions plus shipping will be billed on the first of the month for the duration of the subscription selected.

2. Delivery

Initial subscription orders will be mailed out the date selected at checkout. Since we are a small bakery we are unable to accommodate a set delivery date, but remaining subscriptions are guaranteed within the first two weeks of the month. We aim to send out all remaining subscription orders on the first Tuesday of each month. Cookie of the Month subscription orders: If ship date falls into another month other than when the original order was placed, the cookie flavor shipped will be the Cookie of the Month from the month that the order ships.

3. Cookie of the Month Subscription Details

Cookie of the Month subscription shipments will be the cookie flavor at the time of shipping, not at the time of order. For example: If you order on February 16 and select a shipment date of March 4 the cookie flavor shipped will be the March Cookie of the Month, not the February Cookie of the Month.

4. Following Month Subscription Shipments

Subscriptions are automatically billed on the first of the month. When placing the initial subscription order, if your selected shipment date is in another month we will push out the following month order as not to end up with a double order in a given month. For example: If you order on February 16 and select a shipment date of March 4, we will automatically move your March 1 subscription order to April 1 and extend accordingly.

4. Changes and Cancellations

Please notify us at by the 25th of the month for any changes to your subscription order. Subscriptions cannot be changed or canceled in the first 3 months, so we can plan our production accordingly and give you a great discount. After 3 months, cookie flavors can be changed or your subscription canceled at any time (but why would you want to do that?).
